What Diane has to say....

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is more organized than i am and ready for Christmas! JJ got into Notre Dame which means we can relax a little --he was very excited but hasn't made his mind up yet-my bet is that he will probably follow his brother there-

Betty, Barb, Mike and I had a great visit with Mom and Dad--we even got to see the williams and marvel at Charlotte table full of medals!!! Tommy is into school in florida and still waiting to hear from one other school that's closer so he can relax too--makes for an easier christmas-right Grace?

We did get to talk with mom and dad and they both are preparing to move into someplace that would make their lives a little easier. Mom is probably going to quit work within the year- so that is our timeline. Betty and Mike are going to check out tennessee over Christmas and I am revisiting the information I had gathered before. Dad is always cold so north really doesn't make much sense. He likes to sit outside all bundled up. I know Joe will have some input after his visit as well. So this will be a big year for everyone. We will have alot to do to get the house ready for rent or sale depending on the market. I am planning another trip there in feb.

So I guess we will all just keep in touch and try to stay a little closer through all of this--Mike is doing such an awesome job of keeping us abreast of each other and I am actually learning to use a digital camera! Anything is possible! Feel free to give me any and all input--remember mom and dad won't like talking about it --we just have to get it figured out and they will be ready by then

Merry , merry to you all talk to you soon--Diane

Mom's Bday weekend- 12/7/06-12/10/06

This past weekend we ventured home to Boca Raton FL to celebrate Moms birthday and check up on Dad. While They are obviously getting old, Dad looks good and get's around pretty well. Mom also looks well and get's around very very well. All seems to be well around the house. When you go home, please try to throw stuff away or take it with you. We need to reduce the inventory at the house.

Ok, onto the events of the weekend!

Barbara and I flew in on thursday afternoon. After hitting a local Dunkin' D's we were off to see mom at CVS. It was great to see her, she was very happy to see us. She introduced us to her manager who was extremely complimentary towards mom, but how can you not be seriously...

We went home and I spent a few hours with Dad having him tell me a few stories, it's going to take longer then i thought to knock that out. But i did get a few of the history of our family so i'll keep adding to that over time.

Mom wanted to make it to mass so Barbara went with her and Dad and i went cruising in the car, it was nice, he seemed to enjoy the fresh air.

Friday morning mom had to go to work again. Dad, Barbara and I went to my favorite Jewish bakery, i generally drag dad there each time i go. We had a very uneventful trip, as you know..that's always nice!

In the afternoon i picked up Betty and Diane. We grabbed Maggiano's for dinner and had a wonderful feast. So good! Mom and dad really enjoyed the treat! we used all paper utencils making it extra easy for cleanup! This was great, we had a blast. Grace and Coleen swung by, it was nice to see them even if only for a few minutes. Hopefully next time i will be able to see them longer.Saturday we got up and Barbara and Betty went garage sale shopping. I dragged mom to Dunkin' Donuts and we picked up coffee for the house and a few donuts. Little did we know that Betty was going to appear with a dozen Krispy Kremes! mmmmm, so gooD!

Mom and Diane did some brainstorming on presents as mom still insists on outfitting presents for both Bday and Xmas for the entire family, she's very generous to attempt to do this!

While we did this betty and i played a little who wants to be a Millionaire. Betty of course won. While in the process we had a little history lesson. Here is a link to what i learned, the link is so betty can make sure she relays the right info to the rest of the family:).

Betty would also like all of you to read the book AND see the movie. it's your patriotic duty...here's the trailer..this might be enough for ya;) Click here for the TRAILER----

Later that day we did a great trip to TARGET!!!! That's the best place ever!

Following Target was a wonderful dinner of BBQ that we picked up from Smokey Bones, it was finger likin' good! only better BBQ i have ever tasted was from OTD entertainment..hmmm They need that in FL!

After dinner we all loaded up into our cars and went to Mass together! it was really special and i was so glad we were all able to go together. Here are a few pictures we took at St. Judes in Boca...

Finally, the girls all got dressed up in the finest and went to the ballet. They looked beautiful!!! I, of course, chauffeured them. Mom looked great, and was so excited to go! They seemed to really enjoy themselves and have a good time! Dad and I hung out while the girls went out. We didn't get to do anymore recordings, but just had a nice time sitting...

Thanksgiving 206

Thanks to Elaine and Scott for bringing all of Betty's dreams to fruition. For the first time in as long as I can remember 2/3 of the Judge family gathered together under one roof to celebrate the holidays. Here's a recap of all the fun we had!

Patrick taught us that a little music can heal the soul...or at least be really cool...I guess since he's the only one in the family that can play the guitar it makes him our very own rockstar...

Many of us woke up before sunrise to make it in time to MaryAnn's for brunch. We had a great time, food was super and it was nice to see MaryAnn and John place in Kent OH.

While in Kent, we went for a very educational trip to the tragedy site of May 2, 1970. Here is more info on that....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootings. For those of you that can't remember the song, here is how it goes....Clip of "OHIO"

Clearly one of the highlights of the day was our first Judge family flag football game~Green vs Black. The rivalry was highly anticipated and lived up to the hype. The black team, lead my Patrick Mckillens demonstrated all the sportsmanship we expected. I am not saying that they cheated to win, but let's just say everytime we threw to Cali, it was intercepted. You be the judge...

To top off an already excited Thanksgiving 2006, we had a spectacular feast complete with turkey mashed potatoes of all kinds, casseroles and a variety of other un named items that were quite a treat.
